Sandy Hamilton is a lifelong Illinoisan, raised in the Chicago suburbs before enrolling at the University of Illinois on a full ride athletic scholarship. During her collegiate career, Sandy help lead the Fighting Illini Women’s Volleyball team to 3 Big Ten Championships and two trips to the NCAA Final Four. In her senior year at Illinois, she received the “Coaches Award” given to the athlete who embodies work ethic, attitude and teamwork. That award is still given out each year and is now named after Sandy.  

Following her graduation, Sandy began her career as a Real Estate Broker with ReMax Professionals in central Illinois where she has worked for the last 20 years. Sandy specializes in residential and commercial real estate, and is also a small business owner, co-owning local storage units. Sandy has served in numerous roles for the Capital Area Realtors, including on their Board of Directors, Finance Committee, and as an Executive Board Member. She was also awarded the Community Service Award by her peers. Sandy serves as the first female President of the Commercial Real Estate Network, and has spent 3 years on the Springfield Chamber of Commerce’s Economic Development Committee. 

Outside of her professional portfolio, Sandy has spent the last 30 years coaching women’s volleyball at the high school and community college level, most recently as Head Coach at Sacred Heart Griffin Catholic in Springfield. Previous to that role, Sandy led the Parkland Junior College Women’s Volleyball team to a national championship.  As an athlete, Sandy believes strongly in providing mentorship to tomorrow’s leaders through sports, teaching them lessons in determination and perseverance, and helping them learn to work as a team. 

Sandy and her husband Bob reside in Springfield where they have raised their 3 boys, Charlie, Jake, and Will.
