Senator Liandro “Li” Arellano, Jr. is a U.S. Army veteran, small business owner, and former two-term mayor of Dixon, Illinois. He was elected to the Illinois State Senate in 2024 and represents the 37th District, covering parts of 13 counties in north-central Illinois.
In the Senate, Li serves as the Minority Spokesperson on the Public Health Committee and sits on five additional committees, including Veterans Affairs and State Government.
A University of Michigan attendee, Li paused his studies to join the Army after 9/11. He has completed three combat deployments and continues to serve in the Army Reserves. He and his wife, Jamie, have five children.
